Kelly McMichael

Kelly McMichael (from Peterborough ON, based in St. John’s, NL) is a multi-instrumentalist and vocal acrobat with a knack for timeless rock and pop songwriting that is versatile, catchy and distinct. Her debut LP 'Waves' broke through the pandemic haze as a notable independent release in May 2021, getting short-listed for The Polaris Prize, winning The East Coast Music Award for Best Rock Album, as well as two Music NL Awards.

The album is praised for rich production by Kelly and drummer/engineer Jake Nicoll. Every track packs a punch while displaying a range of sonic influences with playful melodies and dreamy textures.

Kelly is also known as an in-demand collaborator in the studio and on the road with Rouge, Sarah Harmer, Regina Gently, Gentleman Reg, The Burning Hell and Allie X. Currently she is focused on growing her own project.
